| dc.description.abstract | A doença crónica é considerada um dos maiores problemas e desafios de saúde pública. Dentro destas patologias encontra-se a Hipertensão Arterial, uma doença assintomática que atinge cerca de 42.2% dos portugueses. Devido ao ser caracter silencioso e assintomático, os hipertensos revelam dificuldades de adesão ao tratamento. Neste sentido, diferentes estudos têm vindo a realçar a importância de uma literacia em saúde adequada para aumentar o conhecimento e compreensão dos indivíduos sobre a doença e as complicações advindas da mesma. Assim, o principal objetivo do presente estudo passa pela avaliação e comparação dos níveis de literacia em saúde, de adultos com Hipertensão Arterial e de adultos sem diagnóstico da patologia. O estudo contou com 152 participantes, divididos em dois grupos: o primeiro com 76 participantes hipertensos, maioritariamente, do género feminino (59.2%), casados (84.7%), empregados (55.3%) e com uma habilitação literária até ao 4º ano (30.3%); e o segundo grupo com 76 participantes com ausência de diagnóstico da patologia, na sua maioria, do género feminino (53.9%), casados (67.1%), empregados (76.3%) e uma habilitação literária ao nível do 9º ano (28.9%). Dos resultados obtidos verifica-se que, os participantes sem diagnóstico revelam níveis mais elevados de literacia em saúde nas dimensões de prevenção de doença e promoção da saúde. Os participantes hipertensos revelam níveis mais elevados na dimensão de cuidados de saúde. Ainda, foi identificado que os participantes mais velhos e com menor grau de habilitações literárias revelam níveis mais baixos de literacia em saúde, em ambos os grupos. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The chronic disease is a public health problem, due to the high diagnoses. Inside this pathologies lies the arterial hypertension, an asymptomatic disease that origins a cardiovascular problem, being estimated that 42.2% of the portuguese people have this diagnosis. Because it is an asymptomatic disease, the hypertensive people reveal difficulties to access the treatment, where different studies point the health literacy as a way to increase the accession. Yet, over the years, different investigations detected that the portuguese population reveals unsuitable and problematic levels in health literacy, resulting in difficulties using the health system, taunting a high economic cost to the State. With that being said, the big objective of the presente study passes by the avaliation and comparation of the health literacy, of adults with arterial hypertension and of adults without a pathology diagnostic. The study had 152 participants, divided into two groups: the first with 76 hypertensive participants, mostly female (59.2%), married (84.7%), employed (55.3%) and with a literacy qualification up to the 4th grade (30.3%); and the secund group with 76 participants with no diagnosis of the pathology, mostly females (53.9%), married (67.1%), employed (76.3%) and a 9th grade education (28.9%). From the results obtained we can verify that, the participants that have no diagnostic reveal higher levels in health literacy in the dimensions to disease prevention and health promotion. Hypertensive participants show higher levels in the health care dimension. Still, was identified that the older participants and lower degree of literacy qualification reveal lower levels of health literacy in both groups. | eng |
