Abstract(s)
No âmbito
melhor eficácia e, desta forma, apresentam melhor rendimento desportivo.
Nowadays it’s becoming more and more important for coaches to stablish long term goals for their swimming team, and so preparing them for a career which plays an important role in their path. It’s up to each coach to select the most suitable exercises for their team, in order for them to reach pick performance. The internship held at Federação Portuguesa de Natação was deeply related with these goals to evaluate and control trainings, allowing young swimmers to have the best training plan for their needs. Throughout this internship a study was help that had 92 female swimmers participating, averaging around 14.08 ± 0,56 years old. Forty six of these 92 swimmers were juvenile A with an age average of 14,56 ± 0,29 years old, and the other forty six were juvenile B with an average age of 13,61 ± 0,28 years old. Several evaluations were made with antropometrical mesurements and strength evaluations, upper limbs (horizontal jump) and lower limbs (medicine ball). The results show that the juvenile A swimmers show higher antropometric and strength values compared with the juvenile B swimmers, leading to a better performance. We conclude then that the juvenile A swimmers have shown to be more efficient, and there for, have better performances. The training period and this study will provide a useful contribution because allowed to apply the knowledge previously acquired and developed new skills and abilities regarding the evaluation and control of the training, through tools that will be useful for the professional practice as teacher and coach of swimming.
