Abstract(s)
Num período inconstante como este que estamos a viver hoje, é evidente uma persistente
transformação na sociedade contemporânea. Fatores como a internacionalização, a grande
mobilidade dos cidadãos para os centros urbanos, a globalização, bem como o próprio
desenvolvimento técnico construtivo e tecnológico, proporcionam uma mutação acelerada, sem
precedentes. Esta realidade cada vez mais notória, confrontada com o tema da habitação urbana,
estimulam o estudo de análise e a reinterpretação conceptual da habitação coletiva existente nas
cidades, uma vez que as suas características em determinados casos, deixaram de fornecer uma
resposta viável à situação atual e futura. Assim sendo, a presente dissertação realça a importância
da habitação coletiva urbana, das unidades habitacionais e da sua integração na cidade
contemporânea. Aborda a procura de soluções inovadoras, flexíveis e adaptáveis, que permitam a
obtenção de um código de ação estratégico capaz de dar uma solução alternativa à arquitetura
habitacional estática presente, tentando responder adequadamente às necessidades que o novo
conceito de habitar exige hoje e poderá exigir amanhã.
Numa primeira parte será elaborada uma análise do contexto atual da sociedade contemporânea em
confronto com o estado de habitação coletiva urbana num contexto global, sendo simultaneamente
apresentado como exemplo detalhado de análise, o estado de situação existente na cidade de
Genebra. Com base nos dados obtidos nesta análise, que definem o porquê do estudo do tema
principal deste trabalho, será assim possível fazer a ligação com o como dar resposta aos
paradigmas existentes no contexto atual da sociedade contemporânea e da habitação coletiva
urbana. Deste modo, numa segunda parte, será realizada uma reinterpretação do novo habitat
coletivo urbano com base na reavaliação de alguns objetos fundamentais para a realização de um
adequado conceito habitacional e será simultaneamente apresentado como alternativa à conceção e
produção tradicional da habitação, as temáticas da flexibilidade e da adaptabilidade com o auxílio
do conceito módulo, como estratégia de conceção. Estes instrumentos têm a capacidade de não se
invalidarem com o tempo, permitindo resolver o presente e projetar o futuro. Por último, com base
no suporte informativo recolhido e analisado atempadamente, será estudada e apresentada uma
proposta de intervenção inserida na cidade de Genebra, contribuindo como um exemplo
interventivo de alternativa e solução.
In a volatile period like the one we are living today, a persistent transformation in contemporary society is clear. Factors such as the internationalization, the great mobility of citizens to the urban centers, the globalization as well as the very constructive and technological development, provide an unprecedented rapid mutation. This increasingly evident reality confronted with the subject of urban housing, stimulate the analysis study and the conceptual reinterpretation of collective housing existent in the cities, since their technical features were no longer capable of providing a viable response to the current and future situation. Therefore, the present thesis emphasizes the importance of collective urban housing, the housing units and their integration in the contemporary city. It addresses the search for innovative, flexible and adaptable solutions that allow obtaining a strategic action code able to give an alternative solution to the present static housing architecture, trying to adequately respond to the needs that the new concept of living demands today and may require tomorrow. In a first stage it will be developed an analysis of contemporary society’s current context in confrontation with the state of collective urban housing in a global context while being presented as a detailed example of analysis, the existing state of situation in Geneva. Based on the data obtained with this analysis, which define the "why" to the study of this work’s main subject, it will be possible to make the connection with the "how" to respond to the existing paradigms in the current context of contemporary society and urban collective housing. In this manner, in a second phase, it will be done a reinterpretation over the new collective urban habitat, based on the reassessment of certain key objects for the establishment of an appropriate housing concept, and simultaneously presented the topics of flexibility and adaptability, as an alternative to the traditional housing’s design and production. These instruments have the ability to not invalidate over time, allowing a resolution for the present and a plan for the future. Finally, based on the information collected and analyzed on time, it will be studied and presented a proposal for intervention embedded in the city of Geneva, thus contributing as an interventionist example of alternative and solution.
