| dc.description.abstract | O espaço prisional está inserido no contexto social, político e judicial que atuam diretamente no estado mental e bem-estar dos reclusos. A presente dissertação reflete a relação entre o desenho arquitetónico e a psicologia ambiental, na medida em como a cela é também um lugar de habitar. Partindo da análise comparativa de casos de estudo de modelos arquitetónicos de encarceramento europeus, este estudo pretende investigar os elementos espaciais relevantes dos projetos de arquitetura com o objetivo de propor um modelo conceptual que contribua para uma reinserção em sociedade mais eficaz. Neste sentido, a investigação procura oferecer diretrizes importantes para melhorar os futuros projetos arquitetónicos, reforçando a importância da arquitetura no processo de reabilitação dos espaços prisionais, contribuindo para o debate e implementação da reforma das instituições penais num momento em que o tema continua a ser controverso e não dar a devida importância. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Prisons are part of a social, political and judicial that directly impacts the mental state and well-being of inmates. This dissertation explores the relationship between architectural design and environmental psychology, emphasising the notion that the prison cell is also a place of dwelling. This is achieved through a comparative analysis of case studies regarding European architectural models of incarceration. These studies investigate the relevant spatial elements of architectural projects to propose a conceptual model that contributes to a more effective reintegration into society. In this regard, the dissertation seeks to recommend important guidelines. The guidelines will, firstly, improve future architectural projects by highlighting the importance of architecture in the process of rehabilitating prison spaces. Secondly, the guidelines will contribute to the debate and implementation of penal reform institutions at a time when the subject remains controversial and not given due importance. | eng |
