Abstract(s)
A televisão é o
There are many events at the same time to which the journalistic criteria confer newsworthiness and this makes it impossible for journalists to be in all the these places and be able to record all the moments. This is where the ordinary citizen plays an important role, he ends up being present at many of these events and records them through a mobile phone and often ends up disseminating these contents on online platforms. The relationship between the media and the content produced by citizens was the starting point of the investigation. Television is the main means of social communication in this study due to its characteristics and its relationship with the image. Thus, the main objective of this research is to understand what is the use that television, more specifically RTP1, gives to the contents produced by citizens. With this research we seek to understand what is the importance given by RTP1 to these contents, the frequency with which they used, how they reach the newsroom, whether they identified or not, understand what are the techniques and methods of selection and verification of this content and understand if there is any ethical regulation within the channel itself that guides professionals regarding these contents. To answer these questions, the first part of the dissertation is centered on a theoretical framework that reflects on topics such as participatory journalism, gatekeeping and gatewatchig, news-values and a final chapter that addresses television as means of communication. The second part if focused on empirical analysis, with a framing of the information channel and the analysis and discussion of the results of this investigation.
