Abstract(s)
This master's thesis aims to understand how Nuno Baptista, João Miller Guerra and Filipa Reis represent in Li Ké Terra (2010), a film directed by them, the identity of the "new lusoafrican", name given to the descendants, that were born in Portugal, of african immigrants. For this porpose, we sought to relate two different fields of knowledge, the Cinema and the Cultural Studies. Since the documentary is the main element of this thesis, we proposed a film analysis divided in two biases, one connected to its aesthetics and another one considering its theme. We noticed, therefore, that the representation built by the filmmakers finds correspondence in investigations carried out by researchers in the academic field of Cultural Studies.
