Abstract(s)
superior a 24h.
5% of cerebral vascular accidents (strokes) are due to subarachnoid hemorrhage, being the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm the number one cause. A stroke is a neurologic syndrome of fast installation, with focal symptoms and signals, with over 24 hours of duration. It can be divided in two large subtypes: ischemic strokes and hemorrhagic strokes. This monograph will focus on subarachnoid hemorrhage due to rupture of cerebral aneurysm and, therefore, focus on hemorrhagic stroke. It's more prevalent in women between the ages of 40 and 60, causing complications in their most productive years. Different studies show that this patients have high levels of depression and anxiety, emotional instability, low quality of sleep and others. This present monograph was elaborated with the intuition of giving recent informations about the psychiatric symptoms on patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage due to the rupture of cerebral aneurysm, focusing on anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder, as this are the most common changes in this group of patients.
