Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação, desenvolvida no âmbito do projeto Psicologia Positiva,
estudantes e trabalhadores estudantes.
This dissertation, developed within the scope of the Positive Psychology project, is focused on seeking to understand the relationship between the practice of physical activity and psychological suffering / malaise in adults over 18 years of age. Taking into account the importance, these variables in life, of which other study objectives were also developed, where these variables were studied and their relationship with some sociodemographic variables such as gender and professional situation. This study is descriptive and cross-sectional and involved 418 participants, of which 96 are male (23%) and 319 are female (76.3%). A K6 scale was used in order to assess their distress levels, along with a sociodemographic questionnaire to characterize the participants and given information on the practice of physical activity. The results of the study revealed that the variables of physical activity and distress are negatively related, indicating that the adults who participated in this investigation who practice physical activity experience lower levels of distress when compared to those who do not practice physical activity. The results also show differences in the levels of physical activity according to gender, with the female having the highest adherence. When analyzing the practice variable of physical activity and the professional situation, there were no differences. It is also noteworthy that there are no statistically differences in the levels of psychological distress when compared to gender, but there are statistically significant differences when compared to the professional situation, higher levels. of anguish, unemployed, students and student students. These results lead us to realize that the practice of physical activity brings great benefits to the patients, promoting a decrease in the levels of psychological distress, and consequently promoting the wellbeing of those desired, both physical and psychological. The results found on the relationship between physical activity and psychological distress evolve as more research is developed.
