Abstract(s)
Desde sempre que Vila Nova de Gaia está associada à cidade do Porto e a sua relação com o rio
Douro que as separa é indescritível, estando estas cidades localizadas nas margens do rio Douro,
o triângulo associativo traz vantagens e desvantagens. Ao longo da presente dissertação,
pretende-se que este relacionamento se coadjuve e aprofunde de maneira a propor-se um
projeto completo e fundamentado que responda a necessidades que se ressaltem na pesquisa
efetuada.
A proposta de reabilitação e ampliação dos Serviços das Águas de Gaia vem retorquir os
conceitos estudados e globalizar todas as componentes intrínsecas quando se pretende
construir numa cidade que é Vila Nova de Gaia. Conceitos como património, turismo e cultura
são relevantes e essenciais para se reabilitar conscientemente e, conseguir ao mesmo tempo,
manter intacta a identidade e memória dos espaços.
E não há maior identidade nesta cidade que o Vinho do Porto e as suas Caves e, uma relação
entre estes elementos e o conceito projetual terá um reconhecimento elevado e será uma
tarefa a aplicar.
É deste modo que se propõe o projeto da presente dissertação, com uma componente teórica
necessária para toda a compreensão pré-laboral e para um acompanhamento e decisões
projetuais imprescindíveis para a coerência e viabilidade da proposta.
Uma proposta de um complexo hoteleiro com várias valências que diversificam os serviços
prestados e tornam todo o espaço completo e apelativo, respondendo a várias questões e
necessidades impostas pela onda de turismo que a cidade tem vindo a adquirir

Throughout this dissertation, it is intended that this relationship fits and deepens in order to propose a complete and grounded project that responds to needs that are highlighted in the research. The proposal for rehabilitation and expansion of the Gaia Water Services comes to re-study the concepts studied and globalize all intrinsic components when it is intended to build in a city that is Vila Nova de Gaia, concepts such as heritage, tourism and culture are relevant and essential to rehabilitate. consciously and at the same time succeed in maintaining the identity and memory of spaces intact. And there is no greater identity in this city than Port Wine and its Cellars and a relationship between these elements and the design concept will be highly recognized and a task to be applied. This is how the project of this dissertation is proposed, with a theoretical component necessary for all pre-work understanding and for monitoring and design decisions that are essential for the coherence and viability of the proposal. A proposal of a hotel complex with various valences that diversify the services provided and make the entire space complete and appealing, answering various questions and needs imposed by the wave of tourism that the city has been acquiring.
