Abstract(s)
A água, a protagonista da vida humana, está presente na história da cidade desde
o início dos tempos, a conexão da água e a cidade é marcada pelos rios e pelos mares. O
homem sempre teve a necessidade de viver em zonas perto de água. Nos dias de hoje,
esta interligação tende a ser rompida, dado que o problema das alterações climáticas
estão a provocar a subida do nível médio do mar, a destruição da costa marítima e a
frequente inundação de zonas de limite entre a terra e a água. A arquitetura em resposta
ao estudo desta temática explora a imaginação, através da utopia, que leva ao caminho
onde o real e o imaginário se ligam.
No capítulo do Passado é exposto aquilo que já foi criado, no capítulo do Presente
encontram-se as problemáticas e as soluções para o futuro. No capítulo do Futuro
estabelece-se um paradigma do cenário entre a utopia da água e a arquitetura. Nesta
linha temporal, o habitar foi acompanhando as necessidades e métodos construtivos da
evolução da cidade, uma vez que a forte ligação com a paisagem, na qual a água é um
elemento fundador e um desafio para a Arquitetura em termos construtivos. Podemos
definir a água como um elemento arquitetónico que permite dar valores poéticos aos
espaços arquitetónicos, estabelecendo-lhe uma harmonia e equilíbrio. A construção na
água, transporta-nos a um lugar imaginário. A ligação da água com a arquitetura
desenvolve o pensamento das cidades e o seu futuro no solucionar das vulnerabilidades
que existem entre a terra e a mar.
A cidade litoral de Aveiro, considerada a “Veneza portuguesa”, apresenta ao longo
da sua paisagem a Ria de Aveiro que foi alterando a sua morfologia ao longo dos tempos.
A cidade apresenta um cenário de ligação do Homem à paisagem nas suas características
que enaltecem a cidade, nomeadamente os canais da cidade, a Ria e as salinas. Contudo,
Aveiro, atualmente apresenta um risco de ser invadida pelo mar. Os problemas do
presente e a imaginação do futuro conduz-nos ao paradigma da utopia no habitar, no
sentido de criar uma ligação de simbiose da água com a cidade.
O projeto apresentado, é, deste modo, traçado pela linha da água, na
continuidade do canal central da cidade que se interliga com o Lago do Paraíso e é a
partir da utopia da água. A ligação da cidade à Ria de Aveiro é feita através da morfologia
do território local, onde organicamente os espaços vão fluindo e se multiplicando na
água. A fragmentação e a dinâmica do espaço criam a simbiose da água, da paisagem e
da arquitetura. O habitar no Lago do Paraíso é a forma que permite a conexão da cidade com o
Homem e a água. Neste pensamento é criado um paradigma utópico, em que o principal
elemento é a água, que incentiva à criação de uma arquitetura flutuante e assim permitir
a manutenção da paisagem identitária da cidade.
Water, the protagonist of human life, has been present in the history of the city since the beginning of time, the connection between water and the city is marked by rivers and seas. Man has always needed to live in areas close to water. Nowadays, this interconnection tends to be broken, given that the problem of climate change is causing the rise in average sea levels, the destruction of the seacoast, and the frequent flooding of border areas between land and water. Architecture in response to the study of this theme explores the imagination, through utopia, which leads to the path where the real and the imaginary connect. In the past chapter, what has already been created is exposed, in the present chapter we find the problems and solutions for the future. In the chapter on the future, a paradigm of the scenario between the utopia of water and architecture is established. In this timeline, housing followed the needs and construction methods of the city's evolution, since the strong connection with the landscape, in which water is a founding element and a challenge for Architecture in constructive terms. We can define water as an architectural element that allows you to give poetic value to architectural spaces, establishing harmony and balance. Construction on water transports us to an imaginary place. The connection between water and architecture develops the thinking of cities and their future in solving the vulnerabilities that exist between land and sea. The coastal city of Aveiro, considered the “Portuguese Venice”, features the Ria de Aveiro throughout its landscape, which has changed its morphology over time. The city presents a scenario of a connection between Man and the landscape in its characteristics that enhance the city, namely the city's canals, the Ria, and the salt flats. However, Aveiro currently presents a risk of being invaded by the sea. The problems of the present and the imagination of the future lead us to the paradigm of utopia in housing, in the sense of creating a symbiotic connection between water and the city. The project presented is, therefore, traced along the water line, in continuity with the city's central canal that interconnects with Lago do Paraíso and is based on the utopia of water. The connection between the city and the Ria de Aveiro is made through the morphology of the local territory, where spaces organically flow and multiply in the water.
