Abstract(s)
A conceptualidade e performance
Ivan Hunga Garcia, Olga Noronha e Valentim Quaresma.
This dissertation aims to study the performative fashion show and how it is composed of several elements that are highlighted for a more humanist and less capitalist fashion industry. Clothing has always been understood as a form of expression and through the fashion show, several designers find new ways of verbalizing this expressiveness. Therefore, the theme aims to investigate different moments where it is possible to identify this performative festival playing a significant role in creating cultural impact and configuring itself as a tool that transcends marketing. By using different means of expression, determining social norms are challenged, and we find a possible escape from reality. Conceptuality and performance allow us to achieve new forms of liberation, and to get closer to what can be considered our most natural form. The methodology is based on a theoretical-practical approach as the research uses a combination of theoretical collection and practical analysis that includes carrying out case studies and interviews, focusing on three Portuguese designers – Ivan Hunga Garcia, Olga Noronha and Valentine Quaresma.
