Abstract(s)
meu desenvolvimento e aproveitamento do estágio.
Under the Internship Curricular Unit of the 2nd year of the 2nd cycle of Sports Science, an internship was conducted at Holmes Place in Sottomayor Palace, Lisbon. The main objective was to apply all the knowledge acquired throughout the academic course in a real context, and to acquire the social skills necessary for the activity. In this sense, activities were performed such as teaching group classes, prescribing, and applying workouts, and technical discussions were held about a wide variety of themes. All the activities carried out were duly monitored by the internship tutors, and all of them proved to be fundamental to my development and enjoyment of the internship. During the internship, a research work was developed, framed in the tasks and context experienced, and the objective of this research was to understand how the confinement had an impact on body composition and blood pressure in clients of a health club. To this end, data from 31 clients were analyzed, with an average age of 39.32 ± 15.48, being analyzed in three moments (2019; 2020; 2021) parameters such as weight, body mass index, fat mass and blood pressure. The main results of the research showed that there is no significant difference in the parameters between the first and the third moment, however there are small variations between the first moment and the second moment and the second and the third moment. The main conclusion of this study is that during confinement, with the increase in sedentary behaviors, there was a deterioration in body composition, something that was corrected once the restrictions were relieved.
