Abstract(s)
riqueza.
Currently there is a large number of classic spas in Portugal and at first glance there might not seem to be a need for more offer in this sector, however, Portugal is very rich in natural resources that enhance high-level aqualudic spaces, and most of the waters from these springs flow naturally to the nearby water lines, ending up in the waste of such a wealthy resource. Quinta Côa Rupestre (place of Lamigueira), located in the Graben of Longroiva belonging to Vale do Côa, is an example of this premise and it is where this project is developed. Thus, it is in this context that arise the intention to innovate and change from the classic spas to smaller thermal complex for fewer people which can complement tourism of rural areas that are actually of high quality and a cornerstone for the development of Portugal. From the consequences of these needs, is born this rural Ecomedical Spa, a small spa that is equipped with a ludic pool, accompanied by a diverse program of equipments necessary for the constitution of a medical spa with predominance in wellness, prioritizing the diversity of the offers. Therefore, the thermal spa is presented in the form of two groups; the first being the classic health and wellness sector, and the second being the physical rehabilitation sector. Resulting in the reinforcement of the site due to the approach taken over the integration of the project in a rural environment and the way it uses and communicates with the materials found locally, thus completing the natural landscape with this architectural work.
