Abstract(s)
Embora a reciclagem seja vista
A ideia central é promover a
consequentemente, a poluição ambiental.
No
The growing popularity of 3D printers in homes reflects the technological advancements we are experiencing, but it also raises environmental concerns, particularly regarding plastic pollution. While recycling is seen as a solution to pollution, its effectiveness is debatable, as it can sometimes generate more waste than solutions. The increase in plastic production and the improper disposal of products like PET bottles worsen this problem. This study aims to present an alternative for recycling PET bottles by transforming them into filament for 3D printers. The core idea is to foster user independence in filament production, thereby reducing household waste and consequently curbing environmental pollution. The machine developed in this work offers an innovative solution for waste management, which can be replicated and used for personal use or even in environments like universities, making PET bottle recycling accessible and rewarding for those who do it. Initially focusing on PET bottles due to their abundance and ease of recycling, the equipment aims to simplify the filament production process. However, there is room for future improvements, such as expanding the machine's capabilities to handle other thermoplastic materials or incorporating fibers to enhance the filament's mechanical properties. This work not only contributes to mitigating plastic pollution but also promotes a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility, emphasizing the importance of practical and accessible solutions to address global environmental challenges.
