Este trabalho tem como temática, os edifícios que albergam arquivos com documentação histórica.
A estrutura geral deste trabalho engloba uma abordagem em termos históricos sobre a origem
da escrita e dos diversos tipos de suporte, com especial relevância para o papel e sua
evolução. Serão também analisados os agentes de deterioração internos e externos e o modo
como estes contribuem para a deterioração dos documentos e para o surgimento de
problemas na edificação.
Sendo os arquivos património nacional, guardiões da memória institucional e colectiva, é necessário que todos se preocupem quer aquando da sua construção, quer quando o utilizam, participem de maneira activa na sua conservação.
Pelo que, dar a conhecer o Arquivo Municipal da Covilhã tendo em conta a sua política de
funcionamento, as preocupações de uma reconstrução integrada no meio ambiente versus a adaptação às exigências de um arquivo, as práticas de conservação e preservação, constituiu um aliciante desafio.
This work has as theme, the buildings that shelter archives with historical documentation. The structure of this paper includes an approach in historical terms about the origin of writing and the various types of support, with particular relevance to the paper and its evolution. Will also analyze the agents of deterioration internal and external , and how these contribute to the deterioration of the documents and the emergence of problems in the building . Archives being national heritage, guardians of institutional and collective memory , it is necessary that everyone wants to worry when it was built , and when the use , participate actively in their conservation . Therefore, to make known the Municipal Archive of Covilhã having regard to its policy of operation concerns a reconstruction integrated in the environment versus the adaptation to the demands of an archive , the practices of conservation and preservation , was an exciting challenge.
