Cine-teatros: percorrendo a Beira Interior

| dc.description.abstract | No século XIX o teatro era uma importante forma de lazer e cultura para quase toda a sociedade_ No entanto, nos inícios do século XX, com o decorrer do tempo e com o surgimento de outras actividades culturais, como o cinema, levou a que as anteriores formas de divertimento e lazer fossem deixadas um pouco no esquecimento, surgindo a necessidades de novos equipamentos culturais aptos par,1 o cinema sem esquecerem o teatro: os CineTeatros_ Do grande número de edifícios deste tipo realizados por todo o pais, registam-se situações em que estes equipamentos funcionaram ilustremente durante alguns anos, outros que ainda continuam com actividade, e ainda aqueles que estão em situação de potencial desaparecimento devido à sua contínua degradação e abandono. Apesar da sua frequente condição de propriedade privada, as memórias culturais da sua função e as suas localizações centrais tem levado algumas autarquias a interessar-se por eles e a planear recuperá-los e adaptá-los a novos usos e aos requisitos técnicos actuais_ Com efeito, nos anos 60, a vulgarização da televisâo e o aparecimento de novas formas de lazer tornaram o cinema independente dos anteriores equipamentos urbanos centrais e, por essa razão, os grandiosos Cine-Teatros do século XX decaíram, sendo muitos deles deixados ao abandono, gerando assim um vazio cultural, como o verificado em casos como o do Cine-Teatro da Guarda ou o do Cine-Teatro Gardunha, no Fundão. Contudo, apesar da degradação e obsolescência, o essencial destes edifícios permanece: "( ... ) Apenas 60 anos (ou menos) após a sua edificação, muitos dos cinemas tornaram·se velhos, decrépitos e na maior parte abandonados; ( ... ) No entanto, ainda lá se encontra tudo, ainda era [é] passivei salvar tudo. | |
| dc.description.abstract | ln the nineteenth century the theater was an important form of rec reation and culture for the whole society. However, in the early twentieth century, with the passage of time and with the emergence of other cultural activities such as cinema, meant that the previous forms of entertainment and leisure were left by the wayside a bit, resulting in the need for new equipment cult ural (it for the cinema theater without forgetting: the CineTheatre. The large number of buildings of this type carried out throughout the country, there are situations in which this equipment works by iIlustrating some years, others who are stiU active, and even those who are in a situation of potential loss due to their continuous degradation and abandonment. Despite its frequent condition of private property, the cultural memories of their fun ction and their central locations, has led some municipalities to get involved in planning them and retrieve them and adapt them to new uses and the current technical requi rements. lndeed, in 60 years, the popularization of television and the emergence of new forms af leisure became independent cinema of the former central urban facHities and for this reason, the grandiose Cine-Theatre of the twentieth century waned, many of them neglected to thus creating a cultural vacuum, as seen in cases tike the Cine-Teatro Guarda or the CineTeatro Gardunha in Fundão.
