Abstract(s)
Objetivo: esta investigação contém a pesquisa e os procedimentos metodológicos efetuados, para a compreensão das relações entre ajustamento psicológico, empowerment e suporte social numa amostra de várias doenças crónicas reumáticas. O estudo focou-se também na análise da influência do tempo de diagnóstico, nas dimensões em estudo. Por fim, comparou-se também a saúde mental, o suporte social e o empowerment no grupo de doentes com Artrite Reumatoide e com Fibromialgia.
Método: para a recolha de dados deste trabalho, foi utilizado o protocolo de investigação correspondente ao estudo CRON 2016, e participaram neste estudo 80 pessoas com doenças crónicas reumáticas. Os dados foram recolhidos com os utentes da consulta de Reumatologia do Hospital Amato Lusitano – Castelo Branco.
Resultados: os resultados demonstram associações entre os níveis de ajustamento psicológico o empowerment e o suporte social. Os componentes do suporte social: índice global de suporte social, apoio social informativo e apoio social instrumental encontram-se associados de forma consistente com bastantes dimensões de ajustamento psicológico, principalmente a somatização, a depressão a ansiedade, a ansiedade fóbica e com o índice geral de psicopatologia. O mesmo aconteceu com o empowerment. O tempo de diagnóstico parece também influenciar o empowerment percebido, e existiram possíveis diferenças nos componentes em estudo entre os doentes com Fibromialgia e Artrite Reumatóide. É apresentada uma discussão dos resultados e das suas implicações práticas.
Objective: This investigation contains the research and the methodological procedures for understanding the relationship between psychological adjustment, empowerment and social support in a sample of various rheumatic chronic diseases. The study is also focused on the analysis of the influence of the time of diagnosis, in the dimensions studied. Finally, we compared mental health, social support and empowerment in the group of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Method: for collecting the data in this study, we used the research protocol of CRON 2016 and participated in this study 80 people with rheumatic chronic diseases. Data were collected with the patients of rheumatology consultation in Hospital Amato Lusitano – Castelo Branco. Results: The results showed associations between levels of psychological adjustment, empowerment and social support. The components of social support: overall level of social support, informative social support and instrumental social support are consistently associated with many dimensions of psychological adjustment especially somatization, depression, anxiety, phobic anxiety and the general index of psychopathology. The same happened with the empowerment. The time of diagnosis seems influence also the perceived empowerment, the results showed too, possible differences in the studied components among patients with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. A discussion of the results and its practical implications will be presented later.
