Abstract(s)
as empresas enfrentarem o “Novo Normal” Pós-COVID-19.
This study emphasizes the importancy of Industry 4.0 tools and how they are been used, specially in industry, besides models and other features that allow companies, based on scanning and automation, to mitigate the impact of COVID-19, making them more resiliente and preparing the for te “New Normal”. The first part of this study approaches the 3 Industrial Revolutions, the appearance of Industry 4.0, as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the principles implemention, such as, modularity, interoperability, virtualization, real-time response and decentralization in production processes that originate Intelligent Factories based on Artifical Intelligence, Cyber-Physical Systems and Industry 4.0 tools. In adiction, Industry 4.0 is aligned with servitization, circular economy, its affectation to logistics (logistics 4.0), services (services 4.0) and a guide to evaluate the companies maturaty with the introduction of Industry 4.0 strategies. Finally, this study show how the European Comission, the United States of America, China, Germany and Portugal are helping companies in the transition to models that incorporates new technologies. The second part of this study, begins with a previous world crises analysis and similarities with COVID-19 crisis. First, evaluates mundial impact of COVID-19 and then, with more detail, the organization and countries studied in the first parto f this study. After, this study show how COVID-19 is increasing the use of new technologies and Circular Economy practices, wich leads to more innovative and resilient companies, through their restructuring and changing their business model. A crises management model for companies is presented as well as a warehouse management model and a production line that uses Industry 4.0 tools to combat adversities imposed by the virus, such as a social distance between workers. Finally, it´s presented, in detail, how industry 4.0 tools are being use dor can be used to face the adversities imposed by the virus and the advantages they bring to companies to face the “New Normal” post-COVID-19.
