Ciências do Desporto – Treino Desportivo, realizado no Vitória Sport Clube, durante a
do jogo.
Nacional Sub-19 – I Divisão, época 2024/2025.
This report was developed as part of the curricular placement for the Master's Degree in Sports Science – Sports Coaching, carried out at Vitória Sport Clube during the 2024/2025 season. The main objectives were to apply the knowledge acquired during the academic program, understand how a high-performance team works, and develop skills in match analysis and observation. Integrated into the Analysis and Observation Department (DAO) and collaborating with the Under-19 technical team, we’ve performed tasks related to opponent scouting, preparing reports and videos, filming training sessions and matches, and giving weekly presentations to the technical team. At the same time, we have occasionally collaborated with the Under-15 team, performing the duties of intern assistant coach, where we’ve contributed to the team's warm-up, analysis of the opponent in the game and discussion of the respective strategies. The second part of this report presents the research study conducted, which aimed to analyze the temporal distribution of goals in the National Under-19 Championship – First Division, 2024/2025 season. The sample consisted of 368 matches, totaling 857 goals, collected through the Zerozero.pt platform. The results showed a higher incidence of goals in the second half of the matches (54.8%), especially in the last 15 minutes and the added time period (23%), with a total of 9.1% of all goals scored occurred in the stoppage time of the first and second halves, confirming trends already described in the literature and associated with physical fatigue, tactical disorganization, and a higher propensity for risk. Overall, these findings suggest that understanding these temporal patterns can contribute to training planning that is more tailored to the demands of the game, reinforcing the physical, tactical, and mental preparation of athletes for the decisive moments of matches.
