A maldição dos recursos naturais é um problema que pode ocorrer nos países
produtores do petróleo. Timor-Leste, enquanto economia produtora de petróleo, deverá tomar medidas muito específicas para limitar a possibilidade de a “maldição dos recursos” se vir a tornar um problema económico. É, por isso, pertinente combater de maneira eficaz e prudente as manifestações da maldição dos recursos para se poder usufruir da melhor forma
as riquezas naturais de Timor-Leste. Principalmente deve-se ter especial atenção ao “fundo do petróleo” e da sua correcta utilização, para que o bem-estar do país seja maximizado e se efectue de acordo com os programas e planos de desenvolvimento traçados.
The resources curse is a problem that can occur in oil producing countries. TimorLeste, while oil producing economy, should take very specific measures to limit the possibility of the "resource curse" becomes an economic problem.
