Abstract(s)
A reabilitação urbana é actualmente um tema fundamental quer a nível de conservação e
defesa do património, de desenvolvimento sustentado, de ordenamento do território, de
qualificação ambiental ou de coesão social. É cada vez mais um instrumento-chave para a
qualificação e o desenvolvimento dos territórios construídos.
Esta dissertação/projecto consiste na reabilitação de um edifício fabril de louça cerâmica, devoluto, inserido no núcleo urbano da cidade de Caldas da Rainha. Com o desenvolvimento desta, o edifício em questão foi absorvido pela malha urbana e encontra-se desactivado há cerca de uma década, ficando assim, ao abandono e sujeito a actos de vandalismo, provocando um grande impacto visual negativo.
O objectivo será atribuir a este edifício uma nova funcionalidade inserindo-o no contexto urbano, tendo em conta que a arte de louça cerâmica faz parte da cultura artística de Caldas da Rainha. Pretende-se com esta reabilitação criar um atelier de artes onde os cidadãos possam voltar a sentir, aprender e dar a conhecer esta e outras formas de arte. É importante
não perder raízes que desenvolveram a imagem da cidade.
The urban rehabilitation is nowadays an unavoidable subject whether we talk about conservation and patrimony preservation, of sustained development, territorial planning, environmental qualification or social cohesion. It’s more and more a key instrument for the qualification and development of built territories. This dissertation/project concerns the rehabilitation of a manufacturing building, of ceramics, unoccupied, inserted in the urban core of Caldas da Rainha city. With its development, the building in question was absorbed by the urban web and finds itself disabled for a decade there for remaining in neglect and bound to vandalism acts causing a huge negative visual impact. The purpose will be to assign to this building a new function inserting it in the urban context considering the culture of the city. Being the art of ceramics part of Caldas da Rainha history it is intended with this rehabilitation the creation of an art workshop where the citizens may return to feel, learn and experience this and other art forms. It’s important not to lose the roots that developed the city’s image.
