Abstract(s)
O objecto de estudo deste trabalho é analisar a relação entre o consumo de energia e crescimento económico o tendo em conta os factores de produção, trabalho e capital, bem como uma variável de comércio externo (exportações). Analisou-se a importância que estas variáveis têm no crescimento económico em 15 países da UE durante o período de tempo de 1965-2010. Várias técnicas de análise de painel foram utilizadas e os resultados dos diversos
estimadores foram discutidos. Os resultados obtidos permitem-nos concluir que todas as
variáveis testadas contribuem positivamente para o crescimento económico a curto prazo,
sendo a variável do consumo de energia a que menos impacto tem no PIBpc dos países em
questão. Com o estudo efetuado pretendemos acrescentar evidência empírica à literatura,
nomeadamente pela consideração de um período longo de tempo, de um painel de países
pertencentes a uma mesma organização supra-nacional e com a utilização e diversas técnicas de painel, menos usuais no estudo do consumo de energia e crescimento económico.

Let's analyze the importance that these variables have on economic growth in 15 EU countries over the period of 1965-2010. We tested the model with fixed and random effects panel data, since the literature uses another type of tests to examine the relationship between variables. The results allow us to conclude that all tested variables contribute positively to economic growth. Thus our aim is to enrich the existing literature on this matter.
