Este trabalho teve como objetivo a identificação de padrões de jogo ofensivos no futebol com início no guarda-redes, através da metodologia de análise de redes sociais (social network). Para tal, 3 jogos de uma equipa da 1ª Liga Inglesa (Barclays Premier Ligue), referente à época de 2011/12, foram analisados para a identificação de todas as ações ofensivas com início no guarda-redes, até à perda da posse de bola. As 61 situações de jogo identificadas foram ainda divididas em função da técnica utilizada pelo guarda-redes e do posicionamento dos adversários. A posição no campo, assim como os passes efetuados e a sua direção, foram codificados tendo em conta um sistema de notação com 18 zonas iguais. Para a análise de rede, foi utilizando o software SocNetV 0,81. As variáveis centralidade de intermediação (% BC), foram computadas para medir a influência dos jogadores na rede de fluxo. Mediu-se a percentagem de passes que o guarda-redes realizou para cada um dos seus colegas de equipa e para que zonas do campo foram realizados, considerando as seguintes variáveis: i) o modo de reposição da bola em jogo (com a mão; com o pé em jogo corrido; e num pontapé de baliza); ii) a variação da posição da primeira linha defensiva do adversário no momento da reposição da bola em jogo pelo Guarda-Redes (Zona 1; Zona 2; Zona 3). De um modo geral, os resultados mostraram que as ações técnicas utilizadas pelo guarda-redes e os constrangimentos contextuais impostos pelo adversário, condicionam a forma como a equipa em análise se organiza no ataque. Usando este tipo de metodologia é possível identificar e quantificar os padrões de jogo de uma equipa, fornecendo dados confiáveis que podem ajudar os treinadores a melhorar o desempenho das suas equipas.
This study aimed to identify offensive play patterns in soccer that begin with the goalkeeper, through the methodology of social network analysis. For that, three matches of a Premier League team (Barclays Premier League) were analyzed to identify all offensive actions starting with the goalkeeper, to loss of possession. The 61 game situations identified were further divided according to the technique used by the goalkeeper and the positioning of the opponents. The position on the field, as well as the passes performed and their direction were coded taking into account a rating system with 18 equal zones. For network analysis, we used the software SocNetV 0.81. The betweeness centrality variables (% BC), were computed to measure the influence of the players in the network flow. It was measured the percentage of passes that the keeper held for each of his teammates and to what areas of the field they were carried out, considering the following variables: i) how the ball is put back into play (with the hand, with the foot in running game, and a goal kick); ii) the variation of the position of the first line of defense of the opponent when the ball is thrown in by the Goalkeeper (Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3). In general, the results showed that the techniques used by the goalkeeper and the contextual constraints imposed by the adversary influence the way the analyzed team gets organized in the attack. Using this type of methodology, it is possible to identify and quantify the team’s patterns of play, providing reliable data that can help the coaches to improve the performance of their teams.
