A presente dissertação tem como principal finalidade, experimentar a readaptação do edifício Paulo de Oliveira, que serve de apoio ao curso de Arquitectura na UBI, melhorando-o em vários aspectos, recorrendo a soluções de sustentabilidade, de modo a que a suas potencialidades possam ser
ampliadas, explorando assim ao máximo a sua função. Para uma melhor consciência e interpretação acerca desta ideia, vai-se proceder ao estudo de algumas obras pertencentes à UBI e reabilitadas pela mesma entidade, cuja relevância e posição foram fonte de inspiração para a realização desta
dissertação/projecto. Esta escolha recaiu sobre esta edificação uma vez que, anteriormente às recentes obras efectuadas no edifício, era do conhecimento dos seus usuários, incluindo-me a mim, as carências a vários níveis perturbadoras ao ensino. Será efectuada uma análise ao edifício, onde o papel dos seus usuários será determinante, para estabelecer aspectos a melhorar. Como resposta conceber-se-á uma proposta de projecto respondendo à necessidade de
melhorar as condições necessárias de apoio ao ensino do curso de Arquitectura.
This dissertation has as main purpose, experiment the readaptation of a building improving it in various aspects, using solutions of sustainability, so that all its potentialities can be increased, thereby exploring up its function. It is planned to intervene in the Paulo de Oliveira Building, which gives support to the Architecture course at UBI, using as basis for this intervention. For a better conscience and interpretation about this idea, it’s made a study about some buildings belonging to UBI and rehabilitated by the same entity, whose relevance and position were sources of inspiration for the accomplishment of this dissertation/project. The choice, to pick this particular building, was made because, before the recently intervention on the building, it’s known by its occupants, including me, that there are many lacks at different levels which are disturbing the lectures. An analysis of the construction will be made, where the role of its occupants will be determinant, to establish improving goals. As a reply, a project proposal will be conceived, giving response to the need to improve the basic conditions. These are necessary to support the teaching in the Architecture course.
