Abstract(s)
O principal objetivo do trabalho
16/09/2015, cujos dados foram tratados pelo Software Statistical Package for the Social
This work is divided into two topics: The first one refers to the investigation work that evaluates auto medication habits and the purchasing of non prescripted medicinal drugs in Portugal, and the second one comprises the report on the internship undertaken in the community pharmacy. Throughout the first part of the work, it was important to define the concepts related with the thematic, getting to know the underlying legislation, 10 years old, and regarding all this aspects, develop questions that could lead to significant conclusions. The main aim of this work was to investigate the consumption habits of non prescripted medicinal drugs, such as the main location sought out for this purpose. The notions of “misusage” and “over usage” step out as key factors defined throughout the work, as neglected notions, most of the times by the consumer, due to the location chosen for the acquisition, like the mall pharmacy, owing to its proximity and the advantages of the prices practiced by this facilities. The lack of scientific preparation of the staff may also be considered a negative aspect. The “lesser diseases” are also not to be overlooked, because they lead the consumer into auto medication, which can also bring undesirable consequences. In order to evaluate these factors, 229 individuals were inquired, from 29/08/2015 until 16/09/2015, whose data was treated via the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software (SPSS) – version 21.0. The participants had ages comprised between 18 and 77 years old. Out of these 229 individuals, 66% of them resort to auto medication practices, and over 60% claim that all of the non prescripted medicinal drugs taken are necessary for their well-being. Regarding the locations, factors such as the location of the mall pharmacy and its ease of access contribute to its appeal, opposing the situation of the community pharmacies, where their quality advice and trustworthiness of their professionals arise as key factors for their preference. As of the second part of this work, it focuses on the curricular internship undertaken in a community pharmacy. This facility is perceived as the last health specialized locale with which patients contact before using medicinal drugs, thus playing a fundamental role in the adequate action of the National Health Service. In this chapter, all the activities performed in the community pharmacy will be pointed out, being simultaneously substantiated with all of the documentation that supports them.
