Os smartphones têm um impacto social na transformação da cultura, vida social, paisagem tecnológica e outros diversos aspetos da sociedade moderna. No fundo, o smartphone é um telemóvel com funcionalidades avançadas para além das funcionalidades tradicionais como fazer chamadas e enviar mensagens de texto. As APP’s são softwares com funcionalidades idênticas a softwares desenvolvidos para os computadores. O seguinte projeto retrata o desenvolvimento de uma APP sobre gestão de tarefas, denominada “done”. Para aceder às APP’s é necessário recorrer a lojas de aplicações virtuais através da internet, descarregar a aplicação e seguir o processo de instalação no dispositivo móvel. A interface é o meio através do qual o usuário interage com o dispositivo, referindo-se, no caso dos smartphones, ao ecrã. Para uma interface bem-sucedida é preciso pensar na UI e UX, ou seja, no método e aspetos visuais que orientam a interação do usuário e na experiência que o usuário obtém através da interação. Com isto, as APP’s são desenvolvidas a pensar nas pretensões do usuário relativamente a um determinado tema. O processo de criação de uma APP engloba profissionais de áreas diferentes, como designers e programadores. De modo a perceber que tipo de APP’s e funcionalidades existem, tendo como tema a gestão de tarefas, serão apresentados quatros estudos de caso.
