Abstract(s)
orientado do Prof. Doutor Francisco Brardo.
This internship report entitled “Suspected Cytomegalovirus Retinopathy, Readaptation of RGP Contact Lenses in Keratoconus and Basic Esophoria”, carried out over 6 months, was made with the aim of obtaining a Master's degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences from the University of Beira Interior (UBI). This took place at the Clinical and Experimental Center for Vision Sciences (CCECV), supervised by Professor Doctor Francisco Brardo. During this period and from the set of eye examinations carried out, three of them were selected according to the thematic demand of the internship: ocular health, ocular surface and contact lenses and binocular vision. Of the three clinical cases, the first is a case of ocular pathology, a suspected cytomegalovirus retinopathy with referral of the patient to another health professional. The second is inserted in the theme of contactology, a readaptation of rigid gas permeable contact lenses (RPG) in case of keratoconus, with analysis of the corneal topography and choice of the ideal lens according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Finally, the third, a case of binocular vision anomaly, a basic esophoria with use of several sessions of active visual therapy after starting the use of passive visual therapy.
