O seguimento regular e estruturado de pacemakers (follow up), não se restringe à simples deteção de depleções de bateria do gerador mas é também essencial para detetar disfunções do sistema de pacing e disritmias com o objetivo de otimizar todo o sistema de pacemaker. Deste modo, o uso de programadores torna-se fundamental. A implementação da consulta de follow-up no Centro Hospitalar da Cova da Beira representa uma mais-valia para a população da Beira Interior. Desta forma, este trabalho pretende avaliar a presença de disfunções de pacemaker e disritmias em doentes portadores destes dispositivos, seguidos durante um ano na consulta de follow-up, e assim analisar a eficácia destas consultas de seguimento.
Pretende-se ainda estudar a qualidade da anticoagulação oral em pacientes com o diagnóstico de fibrilhação/flutter auricular.
