| dc.description.abstract | O século XIV marcou o início da irrupção da língua castelhana na Galiza como língua de cultura e da administração. Começou um processo de bilinguismo diglóssico que ainda dura até hoje (embora as duas línguas, galego e castelhano, na atualidade, gozem “oficialmente” do mesmo status social). Só foi, porém, no século XVI que o castelhano se estabeleceu definitivamente como língua oficial em todos os âmbitos cultos. Houve, no entanto, flutuação durante esses três séculos na sua aceitação como demonstra a produção escrita da época: de um lado existe uma vasta documentação burocrática que apresenta interferências linguísticas e do outro, conservam-se muitas cartas de carácter privado entre nobres que revelam afeto pela língua própria. Pretende-se neste trabalho dar a conhecer ao leitor português o processo histórico que propiciou essa situação, dispensada, felizmente, à língua portuguesa. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The 14th century marked the beginning of the outbreak of the Spanish language in Galicia as the language of culture and administration. This was the beginning of a situation of diglossic bilingualism that still lasts today (although both languages, Galician and Spanish, enjoy “officially” the same social status today). It was only, however, in the 16th century when the Spanish language settled permanently as the official language in all educated spheres. Nevertheless, there was fluctuation during these three centuries in its acceptance as the kept written production shows: on one side, it exists a big quantity of bureaucratic documentation that demonstrates linguistic interferences and, on the other, a large group of letters between nobles shows affection by their mother tongue. The aim of this work is to inform the Portuguese readers about the historical process that led to this situation. Portuguese language, fortunately, was exempt from it. | pt_PT |
