Abstract(s)
This document aims to present the project proposal drawn up by student Diogo Monteiro, following his curricular experience at the Empresa Jornalística da Madeira (EJM), which sparked an interest in regional content and in particular editorial media, in the way they can function as means of communicating territorial identity. Through experience, design and branding methodologies and research, it was possible to see the lack of publications that really promote Madeira Island and its different cultural, creative, visual and fashion dimensions. The project therefore focuses on creating an editorial magazine that solves this problem/fills this opportunity. Having also carried out a study of the target audience and created a visual identity, the magazine aims to reflect the island in a quarterly cultural and creative itinerary, which aims to inspire and bring the reader (local or visitor) closer to the spaces, designers, artists, projects and practices that reflect the traditional Madeiran environment. AMÃE aims to function as a graphic object that brings together visual and textual content in a careful way, establishing a bridge between the island's material and immaterial heritage and its various audiences. That said, the magazine is positioned as an editorial platform that praises and communicates Madeira's identity with a careful aesthetic language, in line with contemporary design.
