A presente investigação toma por objeto de estudo o traje acadêmico do estudante
universitário português das Universidades de Coimbra, Beira Interior e Aveiro. Compreendendo
que este é símbolo da academia portuguesa e traça uma distinção explícita entre as
universidades e a sociedade de outros países.
O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é traçar uma análise semiótica mediante os significados das
tradições académicas e a forte ligação com o traje, com base nos conceitos de Charles S. Peirce,
seguindo a vertente de estudos apresentada pela Dra. Maria Lúcia Santaella, entre outros
autores que abordam a semiose no universo da moda como Ana Cláudia Oliveira, Káthia
Castilho, Ana Mery Sehbe De Carli.
O objetivo específico, por briefing lançado pela TUNA de Aveiro e com base nos estudos
iniciados nesta investigação, foi desenvolvido um projeto de design de vestuário de verão para
atuações performáticas paralelas estruturado pelos princípios de design de moda e baseado nas
tradições, contextos históricos e geográficos e nas necessidades ergonômicas indicadas pelos
artistas.
This investigation takes as object of study the Portuguese Academic vestments of the Universities of Coimbra, Beira Interior and Aveiro. Understanding that this is a symbol of Portuguese Academia that draws an explicit distinction between Portuguese society and its universities and those of other countries. The general objective of this study is to draw a semiotic analysis on the meaning of academic traditions and its strong ties to the aforementioned vestments, based on the concepts created by Charles S. Peirce and its strand developed by Dr. Maria Lúcia Santaella among other authors that tackle semiotics in fashion such as Ana Cláudia Oliveira, Káthia Castilho, Ana Mery Sehbe De Carli. The specific purpose, according to a briefing introduced by Aveiro's TUNA and based on the initial studies of this investigation, was developed a summer apparel designer project for parallel perfomances structured by fashion design principles and based on traditions, historical and geographical contexts and ergonomic needs indicated by artists.
