Das Aldeias do Xisto: proposta de reabilitação em Martim Branco

Abstract

A criação do Programa Aldeias do Xisto em 2001 veio valorizar as aldeias do interior estruturando o território com a criação de uma rede que tira partido do que cada aldeia tem para oferecer dando origem à Rede das Aldeias do Xisto. Das Aldeias do Xisto: proposta de reabilitação em Martim Branco surge pela relação afetiva com os lugares do interior, aldeias quase extintas, para reforçar a importância que tiveram e continuam a ter. O contributo para a valorização das Aldeias do Xisto materializa-se neste trabalho com a proposta de reabilitação de um conjunto de edifícios em Martim Branco, concelho de Castelo Branco, tal reabilitação destina-se ao alojamento de visitantes que pretendam experienciar o modo de vida de uma aldeia pacata, mas cheia de riqueza nos costumes, tradições, etc. Inicialmente é feita uma abordagem teórica à arquitetura vernácula ou popular em Portugal de modo a enquadrar Martim Branco nesta referência da arquitetura com um levantamento fotográfico, cartográfico e individual de cada edifício. Por fim o trabalho culmina numa proposta de reabilitação de apoio ao turismo que é essencial para a economia da região e para a ligação entre aldeias, cumprindo os objetivos da Rede das Aldeias do Xisto.

The creation of the Schist Villages Program in 2001 enhanced the value of the inland villages by structuring the territory with the creation of a network that takes advantage of what each village has to offer, giving rise to the Schist Villages Network. From the Schist Villages: proposal for rehabilitation in Martim Branco arises from the affective relationship with the places in the interior, villages almost extinct, to reinforce the importance they had and continue to have. My contribution to the valorization of the Schist Villages materializes in this work with the proposal of rehabilitation of a set of buildings in Martim Branco, municipality of Castelo Branco, such rehabilitation is intended to accommodate visitors who want to experience the way of life of a quiet village, but full of wealth in customs, traditions, etc.. Initially a theoretical approach is made to the vernacular or popular architecture in Portugal to frame Martim Branco in this architecture reference with a photographic, cartographic, and individual survey of each building. Finally the work culminates in a proposal of rehabilitation to support tourism that is essential for the economy of the region and for the connection between villages, fulfilling the objectives of the Schist Villages Network.
