Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação objetiva descrever as alterações adversas na vida do cuidador informal do idoso dependente derivadas do ato de cuidar e identificar as necessidades percecionadas pelos cuidadores.
Seguiu-se um estudo transversal e descritivo, de carácter quantitativo e qualitativo. O instrumento de recolha de dados foi a entrevista semiestruturada/semifechada, aplicada a dez cuidadores informais de idosos dependentes, sendo maioritariamente do género feminino, com idades superiores a 65 anos. Constatou-se que, no que diz respeito ao grau de parentesco do cuidador informal com o idoso, a maioria era o conjugue.
Verificou-se que há alterações na vida dos participantes pelo facto de terem assumido o papel de cuidadores informais do familiar idoso, cujas implicações são a vários níveis, tendo sobressaído as implicações na vida social; sobrecarga psicológica; implicações nas atividades que antes davam prazer fazer; implicações em termos de saúde; sobrecarga física; Implicações nas atividades de vida diária, sobrecarga monetária e alterações na vida familiar e profissional.
Houve entrevistados que exprimiram a necessidade de ter ajuda para atenuar os problemas que sentem por estarem a cuidar o seu idoso, tendo-se, deste modo, apurado o apoio da Segurança Social, nomeadamente em termos de contributo monetário, da Unidade de Cuidados Continuados e Centro de Dia.
This thesis aims to describe adverse changes in the life of informal caregivers of dependent elderly derived from the act of caring for and identify needs perceived caregivers. There followed a cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative and qualitative. The instrument for data collection was a semi-structured interview / semi-closed, applied to ten informal caregivers of dependent elderly and mostly of females aged over 65 years. It was found that, with respect to the degree of informal kinship caregiver to the elderly, the majority was the spouse. It was found that there are changes in the lives of participants for having taken on the role of informal caregivers of the elderly relative, whose implications are at various levels, having excelled in social implications; psychological burden; implications in activities that once gave pleasure to ; implications in terms of health, physical overload; implications in daily life activities, and changes in the monetary burden and family life. There were respondents who expressed the need to have help to alleviate the problems they feel because they care for their elderly, and has thus established support Social Security, particularly in terms of monetary contribution, the Continuing Care Unit and Center Day.
