Métodos: amostra é composta por 273 alunos, 127 alunos do género masculino (idade média= 14,75 e desvio padrão=1,95). e 146 do género feminino (idade média= 14,69 e desvio padrão=1,82).
Chapter 1. This chapter describes briefly all the work done during the Pedagogical Internship held at the School Quinta das Palmeiras – Covilhã, throughout the academic year 2012/2013. Start by presenting the inherent goals in this internship, defined by me, the school and the Physical Education Group. Subsequently present the methodology used in the different experiences in the school context, namely teaching Physical Education to a group of the 10th and another of the 12th grades; collaboration tasks in tutoring class; and extracurricular activities developed by the Internship Center, the Physical Education Group and as well as the orientation of multi-activity and badminton team on the School Sport. In addition, discussions about the acquired knowledge, developed skills and making decision and to finish delivering my final thoughts about this Pedagogical Internship. The possibility of knowing reality school, applying theoretical knowledge in practice and experience the roles, responsibilities and problems that a teacher faces during an academic year, there has been pivotal in the development / enhancement of skills for the performance of the teaching function in physical education. Chapter 2. Purpose: The aim of this research was to determine the percentage of students with overweight and obesity and to investigate whether there is significant variability in BMI,% BF, and WC between years (7th to 12th grade) in each gender in a juvenile population. Methods: A total sample is composed by 273 students, 127 male (middle age = 14,75 e standard deviation=1,95) and 149 female students (middle age = 14,69 e standard deviation =1,82). The morphological parameters were recorded according the international recommendations, resorting to instruments with renowned reliability. There followed the classification of obesity index of subjects, according the international cutoffs of BMI to gender and age. We resorted to the ANOVA test (followed by post-hoc Tukey test) to study the variability of these parameters by years of schooling, being the value of P <0.05. Results: For the totality sample, there are 13% of students with overweight, 4% obese, 4% thinness and 79% with normal IMC. There are significant differences between 7º, 9º and 11º grade, in male gender for the students with overweight (7º=22,6%, 9º=13,3% e 11º=0%) and obesity (7º=3,2%, 9º grade=0% e 11º=16,7%). There is also significant variation in males on the PC for the previously mentioned school years (7th = 71.87, 9th grade = 73 and 11 = 80.78). For females there were no significant changes (P>0.05) of these parameters depending on the grade. Conclusions: The study shows the reality of Secondary School Quinta das Palmeiras and at which point of the situation.
