Abstract(s)
Com base na sustentabilidade da Economia, são analisadas as implementações de novas estratégias para a gestão de resíduos sólidos urbanos. Foram testados os determinantes na produção de energia elétrica proveniente dos Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos considerando um painel de dados para 11 países da União Europeia num horizonte temporal de 2000 a 2012. Foi detetada a presença de autocorrelação, correlação contemporânea e heterocedasticidade. Foi utilizado o estimador Driscoll e Kraay que é robusto aos fenómenos anteriores. Foi detetado um efeito negativo das despesas em proteção ambiental e das políticas adotadas para o incentivo às energias renováveis na produção de energia elétrica proveniente dos Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos, o que denota que as mesmas têm sido ineficientes. Constatou-se ainda que, o incremento produção de Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos e o seu tratamento contribui para uma maior geração de eletricidade.
Based on the sustainability of the economy, the implementation of new strategies for the management of municipal solid waste are analyzed. The determinants in the production of electrical energy were tested from municipal solid waste considering a panel data for 11 European Union countries over a time horizon from 2000 to 2012. It was detected the presence of autocorrelation, cross section dependence and heteroscedasticity. Was used the Driscoll and Kraay estimator that is robust to the previous phenomena. It was detected a negative effect on expenditure on environmental protection and policies adopted to encourage renewable energies in the production of electrical energy from municipal solid waste, which indicates that they have been ineffective. It was also found that the increased production of municipal solid waste and its treatment contributes to increased electricity generation.
