Abstract(s)
Construído a
As imagens
desenvolvimento do curta-metragem.
As notas
The following report describes the creation process of the short film O meu vento é o norte, from its conception until the post-production, developed within the scope of the Final Project for Master's degree in Cinema Studies at Universidade da Beira Interior. Built from the creation journal of the screenwriter and director, this work brings a report on the creation of the motion picture, as well as a reflection upon its free and experimental production method. With a small crew, formed only by the screenwriter and the director of photography, the production method applied consists of free improvisation adopted during the filming, lack of script, decoupage or timetables. The images captured undergo a process of selection and are kept until the moment of the editing, when the entire material is envisioned and the film form is discovered, as well as its narrative. The development of the film is described and divided in three steps: introductory notes, creation journal and conclusive notes. After the introductory notes, which detail the specificity of the project, the production mode and its central aesthetic influences, the following step is the creation journal itself, which covers the seventeen months in which the short-film was developed. The notes describe each of the filming days, present pre-production observations, comment the aesthetic references, reflect upon theoretical readings, analyse the editing method and everything that is related to post-production of image and sound, in addition to the general reflections upon the process as a whole. Moreover, themes such as writing methods, sensorial cinema, body and performance, filmmaking choices, aesthetic experimentations and shootings in natural environments are also discussed. The conclusive notes seek to approach with a critical analysis the creation process of O meu vento é o norte, reflecting upon the experiences lived through the project, as well as targeting possible paths to the created aesthetics.
