Abstract(s)
Analysis and contextualization of the anthropology such as practiced in Timor in the period 1860- 1940, especially by Dutch researchers. In 1859, the division of the island between Portuguese and Dutch was officially established. As such, the Timorese people, depending on their zone of residence, were subjected to distinct influences, from two European states not only different in language and culture, but also in their policies in their colonial territories. This reflected also in the practice of anthropology, such as this was developed in the two territories.
