Esta investigação apresenta o pensador e educador Luigi Giussani (1922-2005) e o seu conceito de experiência, aplicado à Educação.
Giussani abordou e desenvolveu o conceito de experiência de forma inovadora, como é patente nos seus escritos e amplamente aprofundado pelos seus estudiosos.
Nos últimos 50 anos, têm sido criadas escolas, que se inspiram no seu conceito de experiência, que o traduzem nos seus projetos educativos e o operacionalizam nas suas práticas pedagógicas. Estas escolas, mais numerosas na Itália, seu país natal, estendem-se a Portugal, entre vários países da Europa, bem como da América Latina e África.
Esta investigação dá a conhecer o conceito de experiência em Giussani, através da sua operacionalização em projetos educativos de escolas de geografias variadas e em atividades desenvolvidas em contexto educativo.
A primeira parte é um enquadramento teórico do pensamento de Luigi Giussani, do seu conceito de experiência e da aplicação do conceito à Educação.
Na segunda parte, o estudo empírico, decompõe-se o conceito em oito categorias que o constituem. Com base nestas categorias faz-se uma análise de conteúdo de projetos educativos de 25 escolas, espalhadas por 11 países de 3 continentes. Este estudo empírico é enriquecido com o resultado de 20 entrevistas feitas a 34 agentes chave das instituições participantes.
Procura-se contribuir para uma fenomenologia da experiência em Luigi Giussani, verificando a robustez teórica do conceito, a consistência com que é captado e operacionalizado nas escolas, a transversalidade cultural, social e geográfica dessa operacionalização e o enriquecimento do conceito através das diferentes práticas pedagógicas.
Conclui-se esta investigação com contributos para uma educação para a experiência e pistas para trabalho futuro.
This research presents the thinker and educator Luigi Giussani (1922-2005) and his concept of experience, applied to Education. Giussani approached and developed the concept of experience in an innovative way, as evidenced in his writings and extensively explored by his scholars. Over the past 50 years, schools have been created, inspired by his concept of experience, translating it into their educational projects and implementing it in their pedagogical practices. These schools, most numerous in Italy, his native country, have spread to several European countries, notably Portugal, and further to Latin America and Africa. This research presents Giussani's concept of experience through its operationalization in educational projects at schools across various geographies and in activities developed in an educational context. The first part provides a theoretical framework for Luigi Giussani's thinking, his concept of experience, and its application to Education. The second part, the empirical study, breaks down the concept into eight constituent categories. Based on these, a content analysis is conducted of educational projects from 25 schools spread across 11 countries on 3 continents. This empirical study is enriched by the results of 20 interviews with 34 school leaders from the participating institutions. The aim is to contribute to a phenomenology of experience in Luigi Giussani's work, examining the theoretical robustness of the concept, the consistency with which it is understood and operationalized in schools, the cultural, social, and geographic cross-cutting nature of this operationalization, and the enrichment of the concept through the various pedagogical practices. This research concludes with contributions to education for experience and avenues for future research
