Esta dissertação faz uma análise de como o autor Milan Kundera construiu a personagem Tamina, protagonista do seu romance O Livro do Riso e do Esquecimento, de maneira que fosse apresentada como uma representação do exílio, sendo reflexo de diversas referências ao tema ao longo da obra. O trabalho busca explicar como o romance escrito em sete partes, aparentemente desconexas, consegue manter uma coesão ao colocar a personagem Tamina em posição central, fazendo com que os demais núcleos da narrativa sejam voltados para ela. Desta forma, o trabalho oferece uma perspectiva de análise da protagonista que incorpora o momento histórico da narrativa, assim como a questão política da época em torno da antiga Tchecoslováquia.
This dissertation analyzes the way which the author Milan Kundera created the character named Tamina, who is the protagonist in his novel The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, presented as an exile representation, therefore, as a source of several references to this theme throughout the book. This paper explains how this novel, which was written in seven apparently disconnected parts, manages to remain cohesive by placing the character Tamina in a central position, leading the other narrative nuclei to connect to her. Thus, this paper offers an analysis perspective of the protagonist, who incorporates the historical moment of the narrative as well as the existing political issue around the former Czechoslovakia in that period.
