Abstract(s)
do romance angolano.
The present dissertation aims to analyze, firstly, the axiological processes through which heroic characters are constructed, starting from the discussions raised by Cristina Vieira in A Construção da Personagem Romanesca: Processos Definidores, considering the postulations about the romanesque character of the theorists Philippe Hamon and Vincent Jouve. Secondly, considering the analysis of such mechanisms in the light of the textual construction of Aníbal, protagonist of Pepetela's novel A Geração da Utopia, all the axiological processes responsible for the axiological construction of this important paradigmatic character of the Angolan novel are analyzed. In order to understand the use of certain processes by the author, in addition to the theoretical discussions about romance and character, it is done a framework of the literary path of the Angolan writer as well as his biographical trajectory as an enveloping part of the generation that denominated utopian to better contextualize, in a general way, the historical space in which the character Aníbal is inserted, and, in particular, the ideological positions defended by Pepetela throughout the novel. In this sense, the notion of a character who escapes the heroic epic paradigms is raised in a context of reflection on the trajectory of a generation that has felt disillusioned by the direction it has taken, seeking, through this axiological hero creation, to create debates that aim at a different socio-political position that focuses on building a better Angola.
