Abstract(s)
O trabalho aborda paralelamente três componentes: a Biblioteca Escolar, referindo-se a sua função actual na Escola e no Agrupamento de Escolas, passando pelo papel de Professor Bibliotecário e pelo caso concreto do Agrupamento de Escolas de Silvares e Terras do Xisto; as Literacias, a cujo desenvolvimento deve ser dada atenção primordial e persistente por todos os que contribuem para a construção do currículo dos alunos; as Línguas Estrangeiras, que permitem comunicar e interagir com os outros, numa perspectiva multicultural. A intersecção dessas três vertentes é concretizada pelo Projecto proposto: na promoção das Línguas Estrangeiras na Biblioteca Escolar do Agrupamento de Escolas de Silvares e Terras do Xisto. Neste âmbito, procedeu-se inicialmente a uma avaliação sobre as crenças dos alunos e dos docentes de Línguas Estrangeiras em relação ao papel da Biblioteca Escolar. No final, após o desenvolvimento do Projecto, procedeu-se a nova avaliação, concluindo-se que projectos como o nosso constituem uma mais valia na promoção da Interculturalidade e da Literacia. O trabalho, no seu todo, constitui ainda uma proposta reflexiva para todos os docentes e particularmente os professores de Línguas Estrangeiras, no sentido de se potenciarem as pontes entre o Currículo e a Biblioteca Escolar.
This work begins by addressing three parallel aspects: the School Library, referring to its current role in the School and in the School group, passing through a reflection on the recent post of Teacher Librarian and at the specific situation of the «Agrupamento de Escolas de Silvares e Terras do Xisto»; the Literacy, to which development should be given prime and persistent attention by those who contribute to the construction of the pupils‘ curriculum; the Foreign Languages, which allow us to communicate and interact with others. The intersection of these three components is achieved by the proposed Project: the promotion of foreign languages in the School Library of «Agrupamento de Escolas de Silvares e Terras do Xisto». At the end of the Project, we applied new questionnaires and compared the answers with those given from the initial questionnaires, whether from students or from teachers. It was still intended to raise awareness among teachers of foreign languages to the importance of the School Library and its contribution to develop in students the skills described in the National Curriculum for Basic Education, thus establishing bridges of the activities carried out under the Project presented.
