Abstract(s)
A relação entre o desporto e a política é um dos temas mais complexos de análise do
ponto de vista do funcionamento da sociedade, tanto pela “paixão” associada ao mundo
do desporto, como pelos meandros associados ao mundo da política.
No quadro da análise da vida democrática portuguesa verificamos que diversos atores
políticos exerceram, previamente, funções de análise e comentário desportivo, sendo
esse um caminho para assegurar a visibilidade mediática determinante para ascender a
cargos políticos.
O futebol/futsal é um desporto que desperta paixões, fidelizações, disputas mais ou
menos acaloradas, exacerbações por vezes inexplicáveis, movimentando milhares de
milhões de euros. A fidelização a um clube de futebol/futsal é para toda a vida, sendo que
se regista o acompanhamento do desporto por milhões de pessoas, o que faz com que o
futebol/futsal ocupe um lugar central na sociedade.
No quadro da presente investigação, pretende-se analisar a relação entre os eleitos locais
nas eleições autárquicas de 2017 (ao nível do município) e o exercício deste tipo de
comentário desportivo ou exercício de funções em instituições desportivas do distrito.
Através da abordagem descritiva e tendo em consideração a análise da relação entre o
exercício da atividade política no mandato 2017-2021, não se confirma uma presença
simultânea de atores nestes dois domínios.
The relationship between sport and politics is one of the most complex issues to analyze from the point of view of how society functions, both because of the "passion" associated with the world of sport and the intricacies associated with the world of politics. In the analysis of Portuguese democratic life, we can see that various political actors have previously worked in sports analysis and commentary, which is one way of ensuring the media visibility that is crucial for ascending to political office. Football/futsal is a sport that arouses passions, loyalties, heated disputes, sometimes inexplicable exacerbations, and generates billions of euros. Loyalty to a football/futsal club is lifelong, and millions of people follow the sport, making football/futsal a central part of society. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between local elected representatives in the 2017 local elections (at the municipal level) and the exercise of this type of sports commentary or the exercise of functions in sports institutions in the district.
