| dc.description.abstract | O presente relatório de estágio tem como intenção reportar o estágio curricular realizado no Consulado-Geral de Portugal em Boston de 15 de outubro de 2020 a 15 de abril de 2021, no âmbito do Mestrado em Relações Internacionais, tendo o mesmo estágio sido desenvolvido ao abrigo do Programa de Estágios Internacionais do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e do Programa Erasmus-ICM da Universidade da Beira Interior. O objetivo final da participação no mesmo estágio seria o de aplicar os conhecimentos obtidos na vertente letiva do Mestrado de Relações Internacionais, e desempenhar funções profissionais relevantes ao local do estágio. Outro objetivo foi também perceber como funciona a rede diplomática portuguesa nos Estados Unidos da América, e como esta desempenha serviços às comunidades portuguesas. O presente relatório irá apresentar não só as tarefas desenvolvidas durante o estágio e todas as oportunidades e constrangimentos que marcaram o desempenho de funções, mas também a análise da prática diplomática portuguesa, as relações diplomáticas entre Portugal e os Estados Unidos da América, e o impacto do apoio consular na comunidade portuguesa da área de jurisdição do Consulado-Geral de Portugal em Boston. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This report intends to describe the curricular internship that took place in the Consulate-General of Portugal in Boston from October 15th, 2020, to April 15th, 2021, with the purpose of finishing the master’s degree in International Relations, while this internship was also put in practice in accordance to the International Internships Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Erasmus-ICM Program of the University of Beira Interior. The final objective of participating in this internship was to apply the knowledge obtained through the classes given in the master’s degree in international Relations, and to perform professional functions relevant to the place where the internship took place. Another objective was to understand how the Portuguese diplomatic network in the United States of America works, and how it performs services towards the Portuguese communities. This report will present not only the tasks performed during the internship and all the opportunities and constraints that marked the performance of functions, but also the analysis of the Portuguese diplomacy, the diplomatic relations between the United States of America and Portugal, and the impact of the consular support in the Portuguese community in the jurisdiction area of the Consulate-General of Portugal in Boston. | eng |
