Abstract(s)
O presente estudo realizado nas escolas do Primeiro Ciclo pertencentes ao
Agrupamento de Escolas Ribeiro Sanches, em Penamacor, sob o tema: “O lúdico na
sala de aula: a importância das histórias infantis na aprendizagem de Inglês no 1º Ciclo”
tem por base as aulas de Inglês ao abrigo do Programa de Generalização do Inglês.
Pretendo com este estudo apresentar os benefícios da inclusão de actividades
lúdicas na sala de aula, destacando o papel das histórias infantis, enquanto ferramenta
pedagógica, no processo de ensino e aprendizagem da língua inglesa de crianças
entre os seis e os dez anos. Analisarei ainda a importância da inclusão de um projecto
europeu no primeiro ciclo promovendo a consciencialização da importância da aprendizagem
precoce da língua inglesa.
O estudo desenvolve-se em quatro partes. Na primeira, abordarei as diversas
teorias da aprendizagem e a sua implicação na educação, e reflectirei sobre as vantagens
da aprendizagem de uma nova língua em alunos desta faixa etária. Na segunda parte,
analisarei a importância do lúdico e qual a sua função para o desenvolvimento das capacidades
comunicativas assim como apresentarei dados relativos às preferências lúdicas
dos alunos inscritos na disciplina no referido agrupamento. Na terceira e quarta partes,
debruçar-me-ei sobre a importância das histórias infantis, enquanto ferramenta pedagógica
do agrado dos alunos. Apresentarei ainda algumas estratégias que podem ser usadas
em contexto da sala de aula assim como algumas histórias do agrado dos alunos. A
última parte deste estudo debruçar-se-á no projecto europeu Once Upon a Time e os
benefícios que trouxe para o contexto sala de aula permitindo desenvolver não só competências
comunicativas em inglês como na língua materna.
Os resultados do estudo permitiram-me concluir que os alunos gostam deste
tipo de actividades e sentem-se mais motivados para a aprendizagem quando são realizadas.
Apesar de ter por base uma pequena amostra, este estudo poderá auxiliar futuros
professores na preparação e planificação de aulas de inglês para Young Learners.
The present study, carried out in the Primary Schools of Agrupamento deEscollas Ribeiro Sanches, in Penamacor, on the topic “Ludic activities in the classroom: the importance of stories in the in the English learning process in Basic Education” is based on English lessons designed in accordance with the Programme of Generalization of English. Through this study I intend to show the benefits of using ludic activities in the classroom, highlighting the role of the stories while pedagogic tools in the teaching and learning process of children aged between six and ten years old. At the same time, I will examine the importance of developing a European Project in Basic Education to promote awareness of the importance of learning English from the first years of school. The essay is divided into four parts. In the first part, I am going to approach the different learning theories and their implications in education, as well as consider the advantages of learning a foreign language for students of this age group. In the second part, I am going to revise the value of the ludic and its function in the development of the communicative skills, as well as show the data collected and related to the preferences of the pupils registered in the subject in the afore mentioned schools. In the third and fourth parts, I am going to reflect on the importance of the stories as pedagogic tools that pupils seem to most enjoy. I am also going to state some strategies that can be used in classes in addition to stories that please the pupils. In the final part of this study, I will evaluate the European Project Once Upon a Time and the benefits it brought to the classroom allowing the development of the communicative skills not only in English but also in the mother tongue. The study results allowed me to conclude that pupils enjoy this sort of activities and feel more stimulated to learn when they take place. In spite of the small sample, the study aims to help other teachers in the future to prepare and plan English lessons for Young Learners.
