Abstract(s)
Actualmente, a diversidade cultural na Escola Portuguesa é uma realidade
incontestável. Cada dia que passa, vemos aumentar, nas nossas escolas, o número de
crianças de várias etnias oriundas de países distintos. A primeira e principal dificuldade
encontrada é a barreira da língua, o que deixa professores, pais e alunos bastante
apreensivos e ansiosos.
Por se tratar uma realidade e um domínio bastante actual, pretendemos, com este
trabalho, elaborar uma síntese teórica acerca de conceitos e metodologias que suportam
o ensino de línguas estrangeiras.
Esta dissertação incide, particularmente, nos aspectos relacionados com a
avaliação diagnóstica de uma aluna Chinesa, como ponto de partida para a elaboração
do seu plano de estudos, dando, assim, corpo ao nosso estudo de caso.
Pretendeu-se, efectivamente, em simultâneo, detectar dificuldades nos alunos
falantes de outras línguas e possibilitar a aprendizagem do português.
Concluiu-se, fazendo uma síntese dos dados obtidos e reflectindo sobre a importância do uso da avaliação diagnóstica como início à aquisição de uma língua segunda, neste caso, o português.
Nowadays cultural diversity in the Portuguese school is an unquestionable reality .Day after day, we can observe how the number of children from different ethnic groups, who come from a number of countries, increases in our schools .The first and main difficulty they have to face is the language barrier, which makes teachers, parents and students quite apprehensive and anxious. Because this is a present reality and domain, we intend with this piece of work to elaborate a theoretical synthesis about concepts and methodologies that support the teaching of foreign languages. This thesis falls specially upon the aspects related to the diagnostic evaluation of a Chinese student, as a starting point to the elaboration of her study plan fulfilling this way the study of our case. We simultaneously intended to detect difficulties in students who speak other languages and enable the learning of the Portuguese language. We finished by doing a synthesis of the data that we obtained and reflecting upon the importance of the use of diagnostic evaluation as a start for the learning of a second language, in this case, the Portuguese one.
