Abstract(s)
Memory can be described as the ability that Humans have to obtain, store and recall information. Baddeley and Hitch decided to highlight the role of cognitive functions inherent to Short Term Memory, thus giving rise to Working Memory. This can be defined as a brain system that temporarily and simultaneously manipulates and stores information necessary to perform complex cognitive tasks and is composed of four components, the component studied in this investigation being the visuospatial sketch pad, which stores and processes visual and spatial information. The symptomatology of anxiety arises in situations in which the approach of danger is perceived, and may be expressed through symptoms of a biological, cognitive and behavioral order. In this investigation, the prevalence of anxiety symptoms in men and women was compared and it was concluded that women had higher levels of anxiety symptoms than med. In addition, it was intended to understand whether participants with a high level of anxiety symptomatology had worse performance in the visuospatial sketch pad task, which in this sample did not happen, that is, there is no significant relationship between the high level of symptomatology anxiety and task performance.
