Abstract(s)
Durante o período de 1 de fevereiro a 1 de julho, realizou-se um estágio em formato digital
no estúdio Nerd Monkeys. Este tinha como proposta a integração do estagiário em
diversas equipas e a elaboração de um projeto multidisciplinar na ferramenta Unreal
Engine.
Ao longo deste espaço de tempo, foi possível explorar diversos trabalhos. Começando por
produzir a arte e interface para um projeto de investigação, foi possível experienciar
diversas áreas como o tratamento de falhas ou erros de um título, comunicação com o
cliente, portar títulos para diversas plataformas, investigações de tecnologias de geração
processual e até o uso de um novo motor de desenvolvimento tal como uma nova
linguagem de programação.
Apesar de o estágio ter o seu término com o projeto multidisciplinar que procurava
explorar as áreas de arte, narrativa, game design e programação, esta experiência
estendeu-se além disso.
Através do ambiente que a empresa criou foi possível interagir e partilhar experiências
com outros profissionais da área com os quais pude aprender e crescer a nível
profissional e pessoal.
During the period from February 1st to July 1st, an internship took place in digital format at the Nerd Monkeys studio. The proposition included the integration of the intern in several teams and the elaboration of a multidisciplinary project in the Unreal Engine software. During this period of time, it was possible to explore several works. Starting with producing the art and the interface for a research project, it was possible to experience several areas such as the handling of bugs and errors in a game, customer support, porting titles to different platforms, investigations of procedural generation technologies and even the use of a new development engine and a new programming language. Although the internship ended with a multidisciplinary project that sought to explore the areas of art, narrative, game design and programming, this experience extended beyond that. Through the environment created by the company, it was possible to interact and share experiences with other professionals in the area with whom I could learn and grow both professionally and personally.
