Abstract(s)
sentidos produzidas no período estudado.

Print newspapers have been losing steam since the 1990s, when the internet was commercially exploited. In the United States, 25% of printouts closed between 1990 and 2014. In Portugal, from 2015 to 2016, the reduction in circulation of daily generalist newspapers was 5.38%. From 2016 to 2017, the fall was even greater: 8.7% (Durães, 2017). The crisis of print newspapers also affects the regional press. For Bastos (2015), cyberjournalism in Portugal has not yet encouraging results, especially in the interior, due to the conservatism of both companies and journalists. Among the difficulties of the regional press on the internet, a case must be highlighted and analyzed. Setúbal na Rede was the first Portuguese regional digital newspaper, launched in 1998, three years after the first news page on the country. Setúbal on the Network was online until 2016 (Coelho, 2017). This investigation is an intrinsic case study of Setúbal na Rede. It seeks to know the reasons for its closure in 2016, what was the company's business model and what characteristics of this project can serve for discussions about the future of local digital journalism. An in-depth interview with its founder and a bibliographic research on regional journalism, cyberjournalism and business models were conducted to analyze the case, where media literacy programs, events and the reader's provider were found in the business model. approach to the public, and the absence of new strategies to obtain financial revenues, with an exclusive focus on advertising.
