Abstract(s)
As Fallas é uma festa popular celebrada há mais de dois séculos na cidade de
Valência na Espanha. Durante a festividade, que ocorre entre os dias 14 e 19 de março,
há inúmeros atos artísticos/culturais que vão da música à literatura, da gastronomia à
pirotecnia, dos trajes típicos ao fogo. Aproximadamente 800 monumentos artísticos de
caráter crítico/satírico são plantados nas esquinas e praças da cidade e após quatro dias
intensos, são postos ao fogo. Uma festa tradicional que a partir do esforço de milhares de
cidadãos valencianos, divididos em comissões, enchem as ruas da cidade com alegria,
arte e barulho, muito barulho. A festa simboliza a entrada da primavera, homenageia o
seu padroeiro São José e desde 2016 está na lista da UNESCO como Patrimônio Cultural
Imaterial da Humanidade.
A partir de três formas de pesquisa, bibliográfica, de campo e formulários,
conclui-se que as Fallas são de suma importância para a memória e identidade valenciana,
pois engloba diversos aspectos da identidade local, tornando-se uma reprodutora da
identidade coletiva, na qual é preciso ser salvaguardada mantendo em equilíbrio a balança
entre a tradição e a inovação.
The Fallas is a popular celebration held in the city of Valência, Spain, for over two centuries. During the festivities, which take place between March 14 and 19, there are numerous artistic / cultural acts ranging from music to literature, gastronomy to pyrotechnics, typical costumes to fire. Approximately 800 critical / satirical artistic monuments are placed on the city's corners and squares and after four intense days are set on fire. A traditional festival that, from the efforts of thousands of Valencian citizens, divided into commissions, fill the city streets with joy, art and noise, a lot of noise. The party symbolizes the entrance of spring, honors its patron Saint St. Joseph and since 2016 has been on the UNESCO list as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Using three types of research - bibliographic, field and forms -, it is concluded that the Fallas are of great importance for Valencian memory and identity, as it enbraces several aspects of local identity, becoming a reproducer of the collective identity in the region, which must be safeguarded, keeping in balance tradition and innovation.
