Os diversos hábitos e modos de vida da população urbana têm vindo a adquirir um sentido nómada, devido à instabilidade profissional, em conjunto com as aceleradas mutações do modelo social contemporâneo. Este facto alterou a estrutura familiar e profissional e, consequentemente, veio questionar os processos de produção arquitectónica.
Neste contexto, justifica-se a exploração de formas arquitectónicas e de fazer cidade alternativas que possam contribuir de modo mais eficaz para resolver problemas de mobilidade impostos pela globalização no mundo contemporâneo.
Esta dissertação procura desenvolver novas formas de habitar, à escala do bairro, com o objectivo de propor mudanças no espaço urbano, oferecendo variedade formal e compositiva, permitindo escolhas ao utilizador e adaptando funções. Pretende-se proporcionar uma nova forma de habitar e de fazer cidade que se ajuste ao utilizador, assegurando o desempenho da sua função. Este projecto visa permitir que o utilizador encontre o seu espaço e o seu conforto, dando resposta à sua criatividade. Em síntese, esta dissertação propõe-se realizar uma proposta projectual de urbanismo modular de um bairro.
Para tal, segue-se uma metodologia que se baseia na criação de dois sistemas modulares, sendo um ao nível do bairro e outro ao nível do edifício, uma vez que o edifício é o elemento fulcral do bairro. A nível urbanístico pretende-se criar um projecto de um módulo de bairro composto por um determinado número de edifícios, actividades, arruamentos, espaços verdes e equipamentos, cuja aplicação a uma cidade poderá variar em número de módulos a utilizar em cada caso e na composição entre eles. Trata-se de um projecto que procura adaptar-se a diferentes contextos de forma personalizada, mas onde se antevêem sistemas de organização de modo a existir um resultado que vá ao encontro das necessidades e circunstâncias de cada lugar. A sua aplicação será ensaiada na cidade da Covilhã. Ao nível do projecto arquitectónico pretende-se criar diferentes módulos padronizados associados a diferentes funcionalidades descritas anteriormente, para servirem de complemento na construção do sistema urbanístico a conceber. Tal como o sistema urbanístico a compor, estes módulos têm a possibilidade de serem individualizados consoante as suas funções para melhor se ajustarem aos utilizadores.
Em suma, o objectivo desta dissertação é conceber um projecto de urbanismo modular à escala do bairro, enfatizando o seu carácter social, capacidade de adaptação e versatilidade consoante os problemas encontrados. Deste modo contribuir-se-á para a continuidade da realidade plural, procurando potencializar o carácter híbrido e mutável das cidades.
The different habits and ways of life of the urban population have gained a nomadic sense due to professional instability, together with the accelerated changes in contemporary social model. This changed the family structure and professional and consequently called into question the processes of architectural production. In this context, it is appropriate to explore architectural ways and alternatives to make town that can contribute more effectively to solve mobility problems posed by Globalization in the contemporary world. This dissertation seeks to develop new ways of living, the scale of the neighbourhood, with a view to proposing changes in urban space, offering formal and compositional variety, allowing the user choices and adapting functions. It is intended to provide a new way of living and doing town that fit the user, ensuring the performance of its function. This project aims to allow the user find your space and your comfort, giving answer to your creativity. In summary, this dissertation proposes to do a proposal of a modular urban neighbourhood. For this, it follows that a methodology based on the creation of two modular systems, being one at the neighbourhood level and another at the building level since the building is the key element in the neighbourhood. The urbanization level is intended to create a project of a neighbourhood module compose by a number of buildings, activities, roads, green spaces and equipment , whose application to a city may vary in number of modules to be used in each case and the composition between them. This is a project that seeks to adapt to different contexts in a personalized way, but where are foreseen organization systems so that there is a result that meets the needs and circumstances of each place. Your application will be tested in the city of Covilhã. In terms of architectural design aims to create different standardized modules associated with different functionalities described above, to be a supplement in building the urban designing. As the urban system to composing, these modules are able to be individualized according to its functions for better fit the user. In short, the purpose of this thesis is to design a project of modular urbanism at scale of the neighbourhood, emphasizing its social character, adaptability and versatility depending on the problems encountered. Thus it will contribute to the continuation of plural reality, seeking leverage the hybrid character and mutable of cities.
